“Lauren is a patient teacher who meets you where you’re at level wise. I’ve improved week by week and really feel the benefits of continuous yoga practice with her. Highly recommended.”

"Lauren is an authentic and inspirational teacher and every class is so thoughtfully and intuitively constructed. I often feel that somehow she 'knows' what I need that particular day. Some teachers just 'have it' - Lauren is one of those."

I’m a yoga teacher from Southend-on-Sea, Essex. I'm passionate about helping people like YOU to discover yoga and start a practice that enhances and enriches your life, on and off the mat.
I've been drawn to yoga for as long as I can remember.
My yoga journey officially began in my late teens with a body balance class at my local gym. After that, yoga was always somewhere in the background.
Sometime around my mid-twenties, I began to struggle with anxiety. I tried to ignore it, but it only seemed to get louder as I got older. Yoga was one of the only things that seemed to help, so my interest in yoga began to deepen. I found a wonderful teacher who opened my eyes to the true transformative power of the practice. I began to explore the other aspects of yoga, beyond the mainly physical practice that we know in the West.
By the start of 2016 however, I had reached a breaking point. I was exhausted and miserable, worn down by a busy, stressful job in London and a three-hour daily commute. I felt overwhelmed constantly and spent most of my time obsessively worrying about one thing or another. I knew something had to change.
In June, I quit full-time employment and headed to Rishikesh, India to dive headfirst into yoga teacher training – something that had been calling out to me for a long time. It was one of the most challenging yet intensely rewarding experiences of my life.
My mission is to ‘demystify’ yoga and make it accessible for all. I truly believe that there is something in this wonderful practice for everyone - no matter your age, shape or level of flexibility.
And in this crazy, stressful world of ours, we need the teachings of yoga now more than ever. By stepping onto the mat, you open the door to a healthier, happier, calmer life – and really, who doesn’t want that?!

Lauren Burles has been teaching since 2016 and is currently based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. She teaches both online and at a number of studios in the local area. Lauren teaches Hatha-Vinyasa yoga, drawing inspiration from her teachers, past and present. She is a warm, natural teacher and her classes are dynamic, inspiring and uplifting.
Lauren’s initial 200 hour training led her to the banks of the River Ganges in Rishikesh, India, where she trained in Hatha Yoga in a traditional ashram setting. In January 2019, Lauren completed her 300 hour advanced qualification with internationally renowned vinyasa teacher Claire Missingham, studying the deeper aspects of yoga theory including esoteric anatomy, mantra, pranayama, mudra, kriya and philosophy.
Additionally, Lauren has practiced with some of the foremost names in modern yoga including Kathryn Budig, Sally Kempton, Noah Maze, Stephanie Snyder, Alexandria Crow, Andrea Kwiatkowski and Sharath Jois. Lauren is also trained in Yoga-Shred™, a blend of yoga and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), and was one of the first teachers to be trained in the style under Sadie Nardini.
Lauren is founder of ‘The Sadhaka School’, (launching in 2021) a membership programme for seekers wishing to build a personal spiritual practice through the deeper teachings of yoga. She is the host of the ‘Rock Om’ podcast - a weekly podcast delivering ancient wisdom for modern times with a rock and roll edge.
Lauren is known for her deep understanding of yoga philosophy and ability to weave the teachings into her classes in an accessible, approachable way. In November 2019, she was invited to join the faculty of the teacher training programme at Body Bliss Yoga, leading the philosophy and yoga theory aspect of the syllabus.
Lauren used yoga in her own life to find a greater sense of peace and relief after suffering from anxiety, stress and burnout from a busy corporate job. The practice changed her life. She’s on a mission to bring the ancient teachings of yoga to modern women, demystifying the practice and making it relevant to our busy, modern lives.
