I have long been fascinated with the Gods and Goddesses of the Yoga Tradition. I’m drawn to what they stand for, their powerful imagery and the lessons they have to teach us.

In this workshop, we’ll be exploring the teachings of the Goddess Kali. With her garland of skulls, her sword of discernment and warrior appearance, she is a fearsome and yet deeply misunderstood deity.

This workshop has been timed to take place shortly after the festivals of Halloween and the Day of the Dead, a time of mystery and magic as the seasons shift from Autumn into Winter.

Expect a potent mix of yoga asana, guided meditation and breathwork, storytelling, philosophy, journaling / inquiry, as well as the opportunity to share and reflect with your fellow workshop participants.

 
 

This workshop is for you if:

  • You’d like to deepen your practice, and learn more about yoga beyond the poses from a teacher experienced in yoga philosophy

  • You have an interest in yoga mythology and Goddess theory and would like to learn a little more about the traditions and stories of Kali-Ma

  • You’d like an opportunity to make time and space for yourself - perhaps there’s something in your life you’d like to let go of

  • You’d like to connect with others in the yoga community and build new friendships and connections

In this two-hour workshop, you will:

  • Move through an empowering asana practice to help you feel strong, embodied and powerful.

  • Learn more about Kali, hear some of the mythology and stories and discover how you can work with her energy.

  • Enjoy restorative poses and an extended relaxation practice at the end of the session, to encourage you to release and let go.

  • Energetically use Kali’s ‘sword of discernment’ to cut through anything you are ready to let go of
