Nature moves in rhythm. We see this in the changing of the seasons, each one with a different energy and quality. At the heart of Yoga, and its sister science Ayurveda, is the ability to connect with these natural rhythms more deeply - the rhythms of our body, the rhythms of nature and the rhythms of the year.
Winter is a time where Kapha (the energy of earth and water) is high, with a strong undertone of Vata (the energy of ether and air). This can lead to stagnant, stuck feelings in the body. The lack of sunlight in the UK at this time can cause seasonal depression and heaviness in the mind.
In this workshop, we’ll explore some simple ways to support body and mind through Winter. We’ll move through a warming and invigorating yoga practice to shake off any stagnant energy and help you feel energised for the busy winter season.
We’ll then balance that by learning what it means to deeply rest with an extended relaxation practice. You’ll also learn a little about Ayurveda, the ancient science of being well, with some simple, beneficial practices to support you for the winter.

In this two-hour workshop, you will:
Move through a warming, grounding and invigorating yoga practice, including twists, standing poses and backbends.
Practice dynamic breathwork to energise body and mind.
Enjoy an extended relaxation practice at the end, with an invitation to use all the props for a luxurious experience!
Learn more about Ayurveda and explore a few wellness practices to boost your winter self-care routine.
